“Organize your life via the menu bar”

by Nick Mead about Dejumble

Busy people know the importance of staying on top of tasks. Dejumble is a menu bar item to always keep on top of what comes next.

The application, which offers seamless iCal integration, lets you create your own tasks, add notes, tags and a due date and time. You can also create groups into which tasks can be organized. Dejumble doesn't include an alarm and won't let you create iCal events though.

The latest version has added some powerful new note taking and organizational features. Dejumble can now be used for more than just task lists. It can be used for capturing ideas, jotting-down notes, and it's all very easily located using a quick search function. The quick search box is particularly useful as it makes tasks immediately accessible no matter what you named them originally.

Tasks are shown in a list, which can be extended and viewed in three different ways: all, today's tasks or past due. Annoyingly though, Dejumble won't show you the due time unless you click on the quick look button and open it up.

Despite being a bit awkward to get used to at first, Dejumble is a solid and slick application to create and access new tasks.

Pros
  • iCal integration
  • Good search tool
  • Divide tasks into different categories
Cons
  • No alarms
  • Doesn't show due time in list
  • Can't create events in iCal directly
  • Limited preferences
